MCLAREN VALE,
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
AUSTRALIA
- McLaren vale is home to some of the oldest continuously producing vineyards in the world.
- The crown jewel of McLaren Vale is Shiraz. It produces a densely colored, richly flavored wine that quickly develops a velvety texture. McLaren Vale Shiraz is known the world over for its quality and its seductive style.
- With a rich vine and wine history dating back to 1842, the McLaren Vale is one of the most historic wine producing regions in Australia.
- The style is typically full-bodied with ripe fruit and plush tannins; the very best examples moderate this natural richness with balanced acidity and a focused pure fruit character.
Tasting notes
Colour: Deep crimson with purple hues.
Nose: Lifted blood plum and blackberries and some dark pepper and brambly spice smells.
Palate: Begins with blackberry sweet fruit then tightens up with fine fruit and oak tannin. Great flavour and composition. Youthful austerity as you would expect from a McLaren Vale Shiraz but there are also plenty of fine tannins and dark chocolate nuances in the lengthy finish.
